Rear Spoiler Removal Instructions Gen 2 Prius

    Hello,
    Does anyone have removal instructions of rear spoiler for Gen 2 Prius Base model? I would like to re-paint it and fix a broken tab. I know the inside cover of the hatch has to be removed then the spoiler comes out, but not being very body work savvy I would like to get the instructions if someone has it or direct me to a thread where this has been discussed, I tried looking for it but not able to find one for Gen 2, some has a dark video posted but that is for gen 3. Please do let me know.

    Howdy. Did you ever find spoiler removal instructions? I'm going to paint the spoiler on my '05 Prius. If it's not too difficult I'm going to remove it before painting. If it's too much AP then I'll just tape up the car and paint the spoiler while it's still attached.

    There are three interior trim pieces to remove, the upper and lower pieces overlap the middle piece you need to remove, so you gotta pull all three. Once they are off, iirc there are clips on each end, then bolts across the frame member.

    I'm planning on painting mine as well. I'm afraid using the original factory color would stand out like a sore thumb, since there's inevitably some color fading on a car this old. Color matching for such a small piece would be a waste of money, so I decided to paint mine black (low gloss), which should blend in well with the black window sections surrounding it above and below.
