Actually, I originally intended to wait for a RAV4 Prime myself but just couldn’t swallow the aesthetics. I know automobile design is a subjective matter so I understand not everyone shares my taste but I don’t care for the SUV design concept in general and the RAV4 Prime is a hideous example in particular with the mis mash of sharp angles. If Toyota had offered a Prius v Prime I would have passed on the Bolt EV. I loved our 2012 Prius lift back but the 2013 v pretty much is the perfect form factor for a one car family. The size is so usable and practical. I gave up approx 8 miles per gallon compared to the gen 3 liftback but I never lamented that loss as the v’s amenities make the trade off worthwhile. I have averaged 43 - 44 mpg.
Gen 1,5 v in 2015 had improved safety offset front crash ratings. My son has the newer 2015 Prius v. I know of no advantages of the older ones other than price.
