Toyota USA Refuses to Honor Extension of Warranty Coverage for Sticking EGR

    I get mostly oil through summer, and 50/50 oil water through winter. I think the efficiency of OCC's can vary? My Moroso is pricey, but still not catching all, or anywhere near, I suspect. Not sure if I've mentioned in this thread, but I've gone from one to two cans now, in series. Will see what the second scavenges, in about a month.

    You could do like my tractor. Look at the top of the engine. It had been a while since I had seen an oil breather on an engine.

    Some oil spits out of the intake ports. Also, again: OCC's are not 100% effective.

    Update: After replacement and cleaning of the EGR components and intake manifold, I have seen an average MPG increase of 10.4% over 2313 miles - 47.6 mpg vs. 42.6 mpg (calculated at pump - latter over 4739 miles). Just goes to show you how important having this system functional is for hitting EPA MPG estimates.

    Also, since I have seen this come up before, the on-board computer is on average 3.8% high over nearly these 6000 miles, but now only 1.7% high on summer fuel blend and post-EGR replacement and cleaning.
