Just got my new 2020 Prime a week ago and loving it so far! What do you guys think of waiting until 2021 to apply for the California HOV sticker? Is there a possibility this car won't be eligible for HOV sticker next year? Would there be advance notice prior to that? The reason is I don't really have good need for it for the rest of the year and can get an extra year of use by waiting. The highway I take for commuting is in the process of adding a carpool lane, which won't be done until at least end of 2020. On top of that, COVID has completely made my commute traffic-free. Thanks!
At least from what I read if you get it this year it will expire in 2024, couldn't find any info on eligibility next year. Here is all the info: DMV website have all the info (sorry I can't post links) You'll have to wait for your permanent plates also.
Are you sure the dealer didn’t apply for the stickers already? Mine did and gave them to me the day I bought the car.
