Hello, I can tell my headlights are pointing too high and I know I should take it to a body shop or dealer to get computerized adjustment, but does anyone know how I can manually adjust them? I know they need to be turned down a little. 2006 package #1 with standard headlights. Sorry if I've blinded you at night, Scott
<_< Owner's Manual - Section 8-3 "Do-It-Yourself Maintainence" (Page 302 in my 2004 Manual). I used a Phillips Screwdriver with an 8" shaft. Tips: You need to remove the radiator support cover lid (black plastic cover just behind the radiator tank held in place with 6 dritz-type fasteners - just turn each one about ¼ turn and pull up). The screwdriver shaft will need to engage the slot above and behind the adjusting "gear wheel." The illustration in your Manual does not show these slots, but if you place the screwdriver shaft in the slot, it provides helpful leverage. Really surprising how much useful information can be found in the Owner's Manual.
Charles, Thanks for the post. I did read the Owner's Manual and the 2006 version doesn't have anything regarding headlights except for replacing the bulbs (also section 8-3). I see what might be adjusting "gear wheels." Any chance you can post the contents of your page 302?
I have tried 4 times to upload a scan of my Page 302... every attempt, PriusChat kicks me out. I have added JPG files in the past without problems. I will keep trying later. I will file an error report with PriusChat.
 I re-scanned Page 302... This time it worked... Hope it helps you. [attachmentid=5167] Although I haven't tried, it looks like you could adjust using a small wrench on the hex-head...
Nice! Thank you very much, exactly what I was hoping. Now the phillips screwdriver suggestion makes sense.
