Both of the low beams went out in my 2014 Prius 4 so I assumed it was a fuse. I opened the fuse box and referenced the diagram and where it says there should be two 15A fuses (20 and 29) it’s empty. Is it possible the fuse diagram is wrong? To eliminate the possibility of gremlins or fuse thieves I put two 15A fuses in and nothing happened. I suppose both bulbs could have blown at the same time but I’d like to understand which fuses are for the low beams.
Reports of both low beams failing simultaneously were common a few years ago. Have you had the headlight wiring recall performed?
I haven’t received a recall notice. Searching around it looks like earlier models were affected? If you have any information about it I’d appreciate it.
If you look in the wiring diagram (more info), you will probably find some parts of the diagram shown as optional for different trim levels or markets, where those fuses are used in some versions and not others. I remember my Gen 1's headlight circuits were like that, where the circuit would be quite different for sale in Canada with DRLs.
According to my prius bible, fuses 20 and 29 are the correct left and right low beams. Double check to see if you had the diagram in 180 degrees or upside down when comparing, been there done that.
