https://youtu.be/-r4eOvCIymE Anyone have a clue as to why my car is doing this? I haven't driven it anywhere other than my work in the past months, and it's making the sound right as the engine kicks in. You press the power, and a few seconds later it starts to "growl" like that. Car was working fine yesterday, but about a month ago, I lost all power going from a stop at a light.
Please tell us the general area where you park the vehicle in the day and night so that others might avoid the same thing happening. For general engine knocking, it would be a good idea to first check the engine oil as it may be low or empty.
Yep, its that. Thanks guys Happened right at my house and caught on camera. Police don't care. Happened at 1 A.M. right on my driveway.
It seems that the cops treat it the same as someone who steals an amazon box from your porch. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Because of the paid "investigative" time off, eliminate that loophole and the number of innocent killed would go down substantially. Also explains why every LEO present chooses to participate by emptying their magazine, they don't want to see Joe golfing alone.
The problem is they could go next door and find a sawzalled catalytic converter and without a serial number or other unique proof they often do not have a case.
True enough. Since these types of crimes are non-violent (and low chance of arrest or conviction) they are at the bottom of the priority list. Had a break in at my house years ago while I was at work. Cops told me "I should do something about that - maybe get a dog". I moved to a different town. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I'm sorry this happened to you. I also live in CA. Got hit twice in less than five months. Sacramento. Late June and then again early Nov. Thankfully insured but out $1,000 in deductibles. Still haven't installed an anti-theft device but got some good info from the other discussion thread and will pursue that soon. Sacramento police said the number of CAT thefts in Sac is double what it was last year.
