Hey all, joined in to ask everyone's opinion on this: I'm looking at a Carvana 2013 Prius V with almost 93,000 miles. Would be for a family of 5 daily driver/commuter/everything (would be our first car) (currently live in NYC thus the no prior vehicle but moving) Seems the previous owner wasn't the greatest at scheduled maintenance, unless the maintenance is not show in the carfax but I doubt that but it was maintained from seeing the carfax, just doesn't seem on schedule. Still that the open recall. No crashed but indeed some scratches. Only 1 previous owner in Arizona. Price is within the KBB price so seems reasonable and within the range I'm looking for. I'd be between the 2013 Prius V or a 2014 Prius. Need more details? What are your opinions?
I would say no unless it was a screaming deal. Maybe not even then. 2010-2014 Prius engines are known to have oil burning, clogged egrs and ultimately head gasket problems. Usually with 150k or more miles. A 2015 or newer is a better bet. Right now through the end of the year is the best time to buy new if you can swing it. Perhaps a Rav4.
No, look- I recently bought a 2013 Prius V wagon 5 and love it for the cargo space, MPG, and dependability. I do 90% of the maintenance and it is very clean with low miles. Don’t settle for a questionable vehicle especially from Carvana. just my opinion.
Hey I just joined today. I am selling a 2013 Prius V Five wagon on Long Island if you're interested. Going to post a for sale thread shortly. My in-laws were the original owners, we bought it from them in 2017. Very well maintained, great condition, 66,500 miles. Let me know if you're interested.
