Hello...I'm new to these forums. I recently purchased a couple of kayaks that weigh 40 lbs. each. Could anyone suggest the best way to transport them on top of my 2012 Prius V wagon? Thanks in advance.
The Yakima website shows a roof rack for the 2012 Prius v with standard or panoramic roof and carriers for two kayaks that fit it: Yakima The Yakima solution is expensive - retail price $500 for the rack/crossbars and $200 for the kayak carriers. etrailer where I buy most of my towing equipment also has roof racks that are said to fit but they are similarly expensive: 2012 Toyota Prius v Roof Rack | etrailer.com Edit: I see the roof rack sold for the similar 2012 Prius+ in Europe listed as being available from some online sellers in the U.S.. It is substantially less expensive if it really is available and kayak carriers should fit it.
