measured about 25 g/s with and without the absorber at about 3000 rpm .. Without absorber : about 15 g/s at 2000 and about 2500 gives about 20 .. 10 happens around 11-1200 .. I don't route cold air in through the snorkle .. but route to pull warm air off the head area .. ambient in the 70's ... running intake air in the 90's .... hotter air is less dense and will weigh less than colder air .
Can you provide more details about the "carbon vapor absorber" you're talking about? Like what part it is and where it is on the car. How does it relate to the air intake snorkel? With the low-level detail in the post, it makes little sense to me.

Well DUH! Atkinson cycle. BTW, more air in from a more open air filter = more DIRT, never a good thing.
I presume you mean the charcoal filter in the engine air cleaner? The one that is there on USA models to absorb gasoline vapors from a recently shut down engine to keep them from somehow backfeeding out the air intake? I can't imagine it would ever make a difference for airflow- surely it's been engineered to be large enough to allow enough flow under all conditions. Heck, they're probably just using one from another car with an otto-cycle engine just to save a few pennies. Atkinson engines just don't care about flow.
