I recently just leased a 2021 prius prime LE. We got a pretty good deal on it and it was about the only car available in the area but I had two main questions 1) is there a way to turn off that beeping sound when the car is in reverse? 2) In the toyota app the only option under remote services is to start vehicle. Is the lock and unlock feature not available on the LE? It seems strange to be able to start it but not lock or unlock it Thanks
1. Yes but you have to take it to the dealer. It'll be reduced to a single beep. 2. Not sure. I'll let someone else with a 2020 or 2021 chime in.
I have had a 2021 XLE for about a month and cannot lock/ unlock my doors with remote services. The only option I can find is to start the car and set some climate settings (and monitor charging). It's weird because the app mentions door lock/unlock when describing the remote services, yet appears to not support it. In general, it seems the LE has a more capable head unit technology wise (supports android auto, for example). I assume this because it is a main line Toyota unit rather than a unit that is only found in the Prius. Also, if you don't want to ask the dealer to turn off the reverse beep, search for "Dr Prius". This is a free app that works with a Bluetooth dongle (~$15) to monitor battery health, but it also supports turning off the reverse beep. They do not list the 2021 models as supported, but it worked for me (and others on this forum)
