The orange light in the charging socket no longer comes on when I plug the OEM level 1 charging cable into 2012 PIP. (The orange o-ring is already gone and cable has worked since removal.) We've extracted the port from the car and the pins appear to be seated firmly (the back part is NOT cracked off as another Willem B reported finding). We've checked continuity everywhere we can and nothing is obviously wrong. It would be nice to get inside the blue head on the charging cord to see if we're getting continuity on the info pins. The head is screwed together with 5-winged screws. They don't look quite like pictures of pentalobes and they are much bigger than a pentalobe 6 (7 exists but 6 isn't anywhere close enough to make me think 7 would do the trick). Does anyone know what that screwdriver would be labeled and where to get one?
welcome! any hardware store should have it, take the evse with you. is it a torx? that's what my aftermarket plug used, and i got them on amazon for a few bucks. if it is torx, make sure you get a bit with a hole in the middle to fit over the anti theft stud
What is a torx (6 points) but what I have is the blue OEM handle needing a 5-pointed bit. The only one I have been able to find in lists of bits that has 5 points is the pentalobe but that comes in only 4 sizes that I have been able to find on-line and all are small (for cell phones and laptops).
