I have a silver backed key, in an after market black replacement body. Will a magnet stick to it or should i try something sticky to fish it from an elevator shaft. I have permission to do this. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
The original key itself (the metal part) isn't made of any ferromagnetic steel. So it won't stick to any magnet. But perhaps, if the magnet is powerful enough, it could stick to the battery. But there will be a lot of plastic between the battery and the magnet, reducing its force. There isn't any steel made keyring attached, isn't it? I would try fishing with kind of a weight with double sided adhesive tape below. SM-G950F ?
A magnet on string will also cling to any nearby (magnetic) metal on the way down. Does it have the metal key inside, and a little ring on the end of the metal key? A strong enough magnet may grab that ring. I tried passing a (weak) magent over the body by the metal body, not much reaction.
It was Jerome at the elevator shaft with a hockey stick looking thing made from a straight stick and lots of tape. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
