Hi. Just got a 2021 Prius Prime and can't connect my Android auto or Entune. I keep getting my phone is incompatible (Samsung Note 8) and Entune says I need to get 3.0 and there isn't anyone to be found. What can I do? The car is a week old and was told that Auto worked and there were all sorts of apps to get... Thanks for the feedback!
Is your 2021 Prius Prime LE model? The Android Auto is supported only on the 2021 LE model, not on XLE or Limited models. Not sure if the 2021 PP is different, but for my 2020 PP LE which does not have AA but has a very similar 7" head unit, the first thing I had to do was to install Toyota App on the phone and register the vehicle info along with the personal info via the app and link the phone to the car. If you can succeed in this, then you probably do not need to install Entune 3.0 separately. Toyota integrated all connected services and Toyota owner app into a single Toyota App. See this web site to get more info on this. Toyota App
I'm wondering does 2017 prius have android auto on it? And if not, is there any possibility to let it support it? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
No AA on 2017 Prius Prime. Only Prius Prime models currently supporting AA are 2021 or 2022 LE models not on XLE or Limited. I am not sure about regular Prius, but IIRC, it did not have AA back then. There are some aftermarket AA or Apple CarPlay dongles I have seen online. I have never used it myself, so I don't know how well they if any work. They are basically a mirroring device for your phone onto the head unit screen. I doubt it will be integrated into the car's system especially if you have a PP with an 11.6" display.
Thanks for the info. I just got a used 2021 limited and having a tough time with the Entune and the app. It seems the Toyota app doesn't want to do very much other than tell me the charge time. It doesn't make sense that the LE is compatible when the limited isn't.
