Catalytic converter stolen, need advice for repir

    Hello all.

    New forum member here.

    Unfortunately my catalytic converter was stolen and I’m looking for the cheapest possible way to repair it (seriously struggling financially). Any advice from anyone knowledgeable on this subject is much appreciated.

    I live in San Francisco, California btw.

    cali has a new law allowing some type of aftermarket cat because of the proliferation of thefts. i would look into it

    You can get a cheap $130 aftermarket cat and $20 O2 sensor and put it on in an hour or two... Trick is the cheap cat likely won't pass the visual part of your smog inspection and the people online won't ship their cats to California, so you'd have to ship it to a friend out of state and then have them ship it to you.
