Hi folks, I've been collecting transaxle oil testing samples and Doug has captured ICE oil samples. But we are two individuals and would rather find an 'institutional' home for this data. So far, I haven't found a database interface in PriusChat.com that would support: 1) individual record submissions 2) establishment of a mult-column, database for oil testing results The YahooGroups support databases but nothing in GreenHybrid.com. I have no special interest in where the database records go as long as they are in a publicly shared area. Any other suggestions or comments? Right now, I'm leaning towards putting the transaxle oil database records in one of the Prius_Technical groups. The interface appears to be straight forward and easily configured. Bob Wilson
Hi Bob, I'm not aware of any database option here on PC. tochatihu collected data from different UAO's that were posted here on PC into an excel spreadsheet, http://priuschat.com/index.php?s=&show...st&p=342514 I would love to see the results of the transaxle oil test. I will contribute my result when it comes to 60k.
I'd be nothing more than a casual browser of such a database now, probably not a contributor in the foreseeable future. Having said that, however, I would vote for something other than Yahoo if you can find it. I'm a member of several of the Yahoo Prius Groups, but I find Yahoo more cumbersome and less intuitive to navigate, post, and search than dedicated boards like this. I don't know if PriusOnline has the functionality you need. Have you checked there? BTW, thanks for all your contributions here, at Yahoo, and at GreenHybrid.com. I read your reports on these sites and yours with great interest, at least to the extent my non-engineering mind can digest them. They've given me a deeper understanding of how my car performs.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(JimboK @ Nov 2 2006, 03:39 PM) </div> I took a quick look at PriusOnline but didn't see evidence of a database. Granted, the Yahoo interface could be better but the ability to make a user defined database is key to what I want to accomplish. I like GreenHybrid's mileage database but that seems to be all there ever will be. Still, there is nothing else like it. There is no rush, just an interest in making sure the oil testing database is in a safe place not tied to one or two individuals . . . a community resource. As for my little 'bon motes', it is always OK to ask for clarification, privately or publicly. Sometimes I forget and don't fully explain what I'm seeing. . . . (You should see the stuff I don't post . . . or maybe not!) Bob Wilson
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(bwilson4web @ Nov 2 2006, 06:06 PM) </div> Will do, thanks! One other option to look at if you haven't already: CleanMPG.com. It's not hybrid-specific, and I don't know if they have an option for a community database. But many Prius owners spend time there (Hobbit, for one).
