2006 Prius 175K - need to fix HV battery in Michigan

    2006 Prius 175K - need to fix HV battery in Michigan -
    I was using the car 4 months before and I stopped using it. Car will not come up. Jump started. Shows red triangle, P0A80 code. Dealer quoting $2900 + labor for HV battery. Any leads please? Thanks in advance.

    eric becky is in madison wi, and autobeyours is in scottsburg, in.

    might be others closer, whereall in mi?

    call them and ask if they know anyone closer to you. call minnesota hybrid battery too. ask for brad

    and it is steve at auto be yours

    I need to talk to some of these suggested shops. Meanwhile when I try to jump start, it is not coming up. Does it mean 12v is also gone or it is still hybrid only?

    12v is dead from sitting. how old is it? 4 or 5 years, replace. newer, you can try charging it, but keep an eye on the voltage, could crap out again

    refurbished batteries are like whack a mole. you replace one module, and another bad one pops up.

    as long as they stay in business, don't give you a hard time every time your car throws a triangle, and you don't mind the down time, it sounds good

    Finally fixed with a dealer. Looks like some dealers /toyota owners website shows the price of HV battery - few sell for 1650$ but for shipping to home and if someone wants to do DIY. ( same dealer said over phone - if he has to replace it is 1950$ + labor).

    $1650 is the wholesale price; $1950 is the recommended retail price, so it sounds about right.
