What red LED bulbs have you used to replace the tiny and rather low brightness 2825 bulbs in the tail lights?
If they can be accessed, sylvania makes a Zevo brand super bright 2825 led Available autozone or Amazon
You don't want the tail lights to be brighter than the factory incandescent lamps though and they should be a good factor less bright than the brake lights. It is very jarring following a car that has its taillights as bright as brake lights.
I think the point made above about not having too bright tail lights is a good point as it’s distracting to drivers behind you and makes the brake lights less obvious. The bright backup lights however is a good idea.
