I'm curious why we can't view satellite information, like in portable units. It would be interesting to see how many we have locked to for accuracy. We don't even get to know what the accuracy is. Does anyone have any information on the Prius GPS manufacture?
You can view the satellite information, you just have to be in one of the diagnostic screens. I think it's in the one that you get to by pressing the INFO button and turning the parking lights on and off three times. However, I haven't heard if this has been disabled in the 2006 and later models.
In my 2005 manual, there's some disclaimers about how accurate it is. I mean it says how it can be fooled by driving on a road that's close and parallel to the road it thinks you're on. That hasn't happened with me, although sometimes it looks like I'm driving through buildings (only for a few seconds when it does happen).

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(aaf709 @ Nov 5 2006, 09:36 AM) </div> I have seen that happen before - especially when you're using the route guidance on the highway. if it wants you to exit and you decide not to (or vice versa) it'll "think" you went the "correct" way for a little bit until it snaps into place. Also, (just happened Friday night after a concert), if it has trouble finding the satellites (say, in a parking garage downtown), all bets are off... we watched it as i was trying to get to the highway and it said i was driving diagonally thorough block after block... after we got out of the city it snapped into place, though.
