Until about a week ago, when I turned my headlights on, the icon (light bulb) appeared on the dash. Out of the blue, it doesn't. Any clue why? (High beam icon still appears).
This is not as straight forward as it sounds. The body ECU controls the lights it also tells the combination meter where the warning light is that the lights are on but it does this via computer data lines. So the likely problem is the combination meter "probably a bad solder joint" but could just as well be a problem in the body ECU. You might reasonably have expected this to be a simple wiring problem but having looked at the circuit diagram it is not. The best advise I can give is to live with it for the high cost of any repair. John (Britprius)
The LED is part of the combination meter according to the wiring diagram, but a faulty LED is possible.
At the risk of sounding very ignorant, is there any chance that them doing to repair for the extension shaft recall about two weeks ago would have affected it?
