Overshot my turn into my extremely tiny driveway and ripped the “bumper”/fog light cover on a flower box. Very bummed. . can I drive like this? should I get it fixed immediately?
Whoops. If the turn signal still works, I guess you could drive. But if it was mine, I would be fixing it as quickly as possible. That's what the insurance is for.
Rotate that signal lamp back into place and that should close-up the gap. Clean the area with gasoline or other non-oily cleaner; something that will strip-off the wax. Use silver duct tape of gorilla tape to cover it up. Give the area a tug; to make sure it won't separate when your on the highway. That should hold up for a while, until you can get it fixed. The entire bumper assembly will need to be replaced. Hopefully the body shop will be able to salvage your marker lamps and other nick-nacks, to keep cost down.
I will use glue gun with addition plastic plate (slight curve to match the contour) to connect them from inside. First remove the screws (6 or 7 of them) from the bottom of the bumper, then remove long triangle plastic cap next to the turn signal light module, then remove the light module (3 screws I think) through the bottom, then glue it from inside, once secure, then put back the light module and everything else.
Well; If he's mechanically inclined enough to remove the front bumper cover. He can simply epoxy the back side and perhaps find a piece of plastic backing for added strength. Then later get the crack filled and bumper repainted. Looks like around $155 @ rockauto w/o parking sensor option. You'll still need to get it repainted to match the car.
