I have a slightly used right CV Axle made by Cardone. It is in excellent condition with less than 5,000 miles on it. It was was replaced while trying to locate a suspension noise that ended up being an engine mount. $50 local pickup in the Phoenix Metro area.
Close. I had replaced all of the suspension and rubber components on the front end but noticed a clack when accelerating. I thought I had it narrowed down to the right front axle. I put about 5,000 miles on the car while troubleshooting. So I pulled this Cardone unit back off and put on a NAPA unit. The noise was still there. I could have returned the NAPA unit but I just didn't feel like messing with it. So the Cardone with less than 5K on it is in the NAPA box in my garage. I bought the Cardone through Rock Auto originally. I ended up using portable magnetic microphones and attached them in various places and finally discovered that the issue was an engine mount all along. Hope that explains it better .
The one under the inverter is a real PIA. I also change the dog bone at the same time. That one is significantly easier and is located on the bottom.
