2010 gen 3 key fob turn off pattern

    seen few youtube videos showing how to turn off key fob (toyota) so others cant copy signal and duplicate key ,steal car does this also work for prius gen2/3 ?

    my 2010 prius key fob doesnt turn off like these videos
    hold lock button and click unlock button twice ,but the red led on fob keep blinking not turn off nor the other way hold unlockbutton and click twice lock button ,tried few variations ,
    dont know if its issue with only my key fob,
    didnt get any search results "key fob off" on this forum

    i wonder if prius has too many computers for this to work. tacoma fob might be different?

    it is too bad he doesn't confirm models and years. i have never read about this feature with prius, but i believe gen 4 comes with it iirc.

    My guess is that this is only for the Gen4 (and soon to be newer) cars.

    no one posted about Prius gen2, 3 stolen by key signal copy ?
    Maybe this only applies to newer models ?

    we haven't really seen it as an issue, especially compared to stolen cats, despite the hype on social media.
