I need to replace one of the bulbs over the rear license plate. In order to access where the bulb is, the instruction manual simply says "Remove the cover". I have looked, all over the rear cover and can find nothing to pry/unscrew/yank/rip off with brute force. How do you remove the rear cover? Thanks in advance
Take a look at http://www.evnut.com/prius_led_license.htm for some pictures. It isn't an easy thing to do, unfortunately.

A combo of prying with the proper tool, and yanking is the answer. When I finally got mine off, I cut all the sharp edges off with a utility knife. Then I lubricated the plastic clips before reinstalling. WAY easier to get off now. That first time is a real b!tch.

Otherwise, you will most likely push the retaining clips inside the hatch, where accessing them will require considerable luck and much cussing.
