I have a 2015 Prius Persona with low profile tires and 17" rims they look great but the low profile tires I get some flats. I was looking to replace the standard 215/45R17 Stock for something little taller like at 50 or 55 Looking to see if there is a big difference in fuel economy bad or worse Each tire site says that this is the only size for the Persona, tire shop says you an go up to a 50 or 55 without an issue. Wanted to see if anyone has done it and results. Thanks Also shop says it needs struts and about $400 each - ouch
You could try 205/50R17. They seem to always come in XL (Extra Load) though, have firmer ride, so not sure where that gets you. or go to 15” rim. what pressure are you running? Sticking with Toyota recommended 33/32 F/R (not higher) helps some.
nooo... here is how I purchased KYB Shocks for my Toyota Prius at a low cost, and in-store! I feel like they were $83 each for the rear
215/50r17 will fit without modifications. 215/55r17 or 215/60r17 you will need either 1.5in lift or rough road springs and struts (Mexican package). You will lose 3-4 MPG. Control will be worse at high speed (90+ mph). Ride will be more comfortable. Flooded streets won't be an issue anymore.
