I replaced 1 bad cell that was at 15.6 with a new cell which read 16.4 I also replaced the bud bars and the nuts. Which worked for 10 minutes then the red triangle came back vsc lights check engine light came back I voltage tested them again now all cells dropped to 15.4 across all 28 cells. Is there something I missed
yep, there's a lot more to it than replacing bad cells, although some do get lucky. have you read some of the rebuilding threads?
Yeah, potentially missing a lot, starting with 15.4 across all 28 cells.... You may want to check the meter you're using. Each of the 28 modules in a Prius battery is typically 7.2-8.1 volts, depending on its level of charge. 7.2 is pretty very at the low end of charge and 8.1 is the high end. Not sure how you're getting your voltages.
So then there's even more missing.... I couldn't even comprehend using those type measurements to remove a hybrid battery, disassemble it, swap out a 'cell, or some 'cells' or whatever and not have a multimeter to use to help ensure I swap the correct ones or at least to do some checks so I don't kill myself. Maybe I'm assuming too much....and I'm too tired today to even begin trying to clarify what is going on....maybe tomorrow
