Hello I recently swapped the engine on my Lexus ct200 which is identical to the gen 3 Prius. Everything went good and it drives well but I am now getting a “check hybrid system” message along with my AC not working. Any clue what it could be?
there should be codes you can pull up, it'll point you closer to the problem than using a crystal ball
P0AA6-526-614 Is the code so it has something to do with the inverter is there a chance it got damaged during the installation
That was a Gen 2-specific thread, and this is a Gen 2-specific diagram, but for Gen 3 it is still close enough to show which parts of the system are implicated by the 614 code. As you can see, 614 covers everything from the load-side terminals of the main relays in the battery to the boost converter and DC busses in the inverter assembly. What changes in Gen 3 is the A/C inverter moves out of the inverter assembly and into the A/C compressor itself. So the 614 area also covers the cable running over to the compressor, and 611 would only involve components internal to the A/C compressor. 526, as you can see, refers to everything; it is just the "whoops, there's leakage somewhere" code that the car sets before it figures out where and sets the other code.
Update: I couldn’t figure it out ended up taking it to a hybrid specialist over here in San Diego. He tried replacing the inverter and the code still showed. He said he’s going to try to replace the A/C compressor and if that’s not it, maybe the frame wire got messed up during the engine installation. I’m over it
A shop that didn't want to proceed by swapping and reswapping of parts would ordinarily use a megohmmeter to look for the problem, in the area covered by code 614, and then repair the problem that's found.
Update 2: changed the A/C compressor everything seems good now no lights as of yet drove a decent amount. And the AC is nice and cold. Was a lot weaker prior to everything happening. Wish me luck ($1000 total) let’s see how it goes.
