Hi. Recently added a 2in tow hitch onto my prius. They tow maximum is 1600lbs. For several reasons, i will not move that much weight. However, it makes trips to furniture shops, a breeze! I find the trailer more efficient than a roof rack. When towing, i stay off of freeways. With about 900lbs towed, the vehicle feels amazingly solid. It does not whine or struggle. Transmission winds just fine. Brakes stop the vehicle perfectly. I really cant feel that im towing. Mpg drops to about low 40s
So i have 5x6 that i borrow from a buddy. And i think the one i rent from uhaul is about the same, maybe a little bigger. The uhaul trailers are very heavy tho. I dont have a problem towing with them. I just know i wont be able to carry much more because the trailer is already taking 70% my load capacity. Hahahahahaaj. Also forgot to mention, i intalled a 4flat electric connection line to be road compliant. It allows the turn signals and brake lights to work with the trailer.
Looks. great and bet it has been very handy! Thinking of doing the same. How did you determine the size and hitch category? Any issues going up/down steep inclines?
