COOL! Not being much of a fan of rap (always felt they left the leading C off the name), so we never realised that they had a filipino in the band. My wife (a flilipina) is already fast asleep for the evening, so I printed out the LA Times article you linked, suspect there will be some Black Eyed Peas entering our musical collection in the near future.
