I just took a trip to the snow with my 2005 prius. I had to drive it pretty hard and go through some deeper snow and some ice. I now hear a rattling sound from the bottom front of the car. It comes on intermittently and turning left seems to be when it mostly happens. It only makes the noise at 5-15mph and it's rare. I have a video of the noise uploaded to my YouTube channel. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You sure that's not ice buildup on something that's reciprocating a drive axle in the wheels literally something like that seemingly that's what it sounds like seems kind of plasticky sounding too like a piece of heavy under chassis plastic is flopping flapping when something's jammed in it pushing it against whatever is rotating like a drive axle end or something can't really see from here but the snow and ice is not fun for these cars driving them hard in the snow is not really a good thing best to go easy in the snow not trying to forge new ground
NewThank you guys for all the help! Update I took it to a mechanic and he found the sound odd. He drove it around and it turned out I bent the catalitic converter cover when driving over heavy snow and when the exhaust would rattle at low speeds it would hit against it. He put a piece of wood under it and bent it back to normal. Car doesn't make the noise anymore and everything's great. Thank you!!
