gen 4 was pretty unusual and the taxs made it hard to resist. Of course the gove giveth and the gove taketh away. I still remember the gen 3 prius 5 price when I test drove the C model 1 just backed off the hauler in 2012 and told the salesman I wished there was a C with a plug.

 

GASP $46k for the ltd, up from $39k from the previous gen top level trim?

I'm trembling at the thought of what the Prime will go for... the gov't rebate ($5000 up from $2500) isn't going to make up for the difference.

Just noticed the lower trim (XLE AWD) does not have a check in the feature comparison line "Power Windows with Auto Up/Down for All Windows". That doesn't mean a crank, does it?

So... an extra $1221...

 

Since comparable trims of Prius have gone up 6-7k, I'm expecting the XSE Premium will be $49k + change. Why not, with the extra federal rebate, and used Prime prices?

Great find beamsley, I have been checking the site regularly for when the builder was updated.

I am a bit surprised at the pricing; didn’t think it would get that high, but alas there are a lot of add-ons from the old model. Like you, I have my the Prime, and am a bit concerned about how much more that will be. I figured the Limited would come in around $42-$43K.

The logic part of my brain says that it can’t be too close to the RAV4 Prime, but then again the non-plug Prius is almost the exact same price as the RAV4 Hybrid (!). I can’t imagine the PP will match the R4P??

My gut was that the PP would be about $5-6K more than the regular Prius, but then again Toyota may put the pricing similar, as any electrified RAV4 is basically a unicorn these days….

Sigh… on the bright side, at least we know these cars will certainly hold their value very well regardless (considering reputation + availability) for the foreseeable future….

 

I wouldn't be surprised if they get rid of the LE and SE in the US as well.

Mustard is only available in Limited, which means you may never see it, as they are hardly making any Limited either.

There are no packages, options, or accessories (the latter except for three)—interesting.

 

It could make sense to benchmark the RAV4 prime XSE vs the RAV4 hybrid XSE, and consider what premium is associated with the bigger battery and charging circuit.

And then apply that to the Prius pricing

 

Agreed, I don’t think there is any world where the Prius will be MORE expensive than the RAV4, the question is just how close it will be.

 

There's a $12100 difference between the Rav4 hybrid and the Rav4Prime in XSE trim in Ontario. That's a lot for a bigger battery.

And the charging circuitry, of course. Not sure what else.

 

There is, but I think there are other differences as well, I just haven’t done a side by side recently. For example, the RAV Prime has a large difference in power (~80hp) where the Prius is a ~25hp difference, for example. I don’t think the delta will be as big.
