My daughters 2007 Prius had a P 3000 code. I took it to the dealership and they told me it was a bad module number three and also the fan needed to be replaced. I replace the fan and the module and balance the pack, and according to the Prius App the battery is all in the green and balanced very well. Ran great for 2 months. also her 12 V battery has been replaced. Now the same P 3000 code is coming up and the battery pack seems to be fine and the fan blows on high as soon as the triangle turns on. What else should I check? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
So the dealer replaced the fan at the same time they replaced the pack while they had the car That's kind of funny because that's the normal running of the fan as the battery is in midfail or whatever you want to call it My car did the same thing while the hybrid battery was dying or heading to death I was in the car driving the whole time this took months I even took the fan apart check the connections all of that there was some sketchy connections from the water dripage that comes down the side in the quarter panel and some Prius. Took care of the plug the outlet got all that straight fans clean as a whistle I didn't even have to clean it still running on full speed The minute I changed the hybrid battery pack the big silver battery in the back the fan stopped running immediately snap your fingers that fast now I never hear the fan I know it works but unless I have the software plugged up to the car and I turn the fan on by telling the software to do so so I can hear it so so I know it works I never hear the fan. So far out of four or five batteries that I've worked on indoor replaced in prius from 04 to '09 I have never seen a bad fan I've seen a dirty one not near as bad as many of the pictures here but I've never seen a failed one as soon as I change the battery the fan goes back to working normal like it always does If the batteries failing when I see the car the fans running on full blast and until you get all the plastic and the stuff out of the way in the area where the battery is you won't hear the fan generally speaking unless you're real hearing sensitive or one of those special folks.
