So I ordered new OEM pads for my 2013V from Mcgeorge Toyota. When I got them removed and started to replace them I realized that the two metal shims that used to fit on the backs no longer fits, in fact the new pads seem to be more narrow than the ones on the car and look very different. They both are made by advics and both have the same part number PV565H FG. Should I just leave the shims out?
That shouldn’t be. The shim is loose on the new pad? Is mcgeorge Toyota local to you or was this mail order? Either way there’s something not right; I’d get in touch with them.
That's what I decided to do. Just put the old pads back in and will reach out to Mcgeorge service dept. They are out of state but do a lot of online business (best price) for Toyota parts. These new pads are not as wide as the ones that came on the car and so won't use as much of the rotor, but yes the shim is much too wide (if you look at the 3rd pic the shim is tight against the bottom but no where near touching at the top) I will post what Mcgeorge responds back to me. When I search that part number online I see different listings that show replacement pads with three circles on the back like what came on my car and and then I see ones like I received that have the one circle on the back, very confusing.
