extended warranty

Hello all,

I am a new member and I think this website is great! My Prius currently has about 30,000 and I had my
first mechanical problem last week. My transaxle seal (transmission) was leaking.
It's covered under the 36K warranty. But this lead me to be concerned and considered purchasing the
Extended Warranty. I am wondering if many of you have purchased the warranty and
if you have actually had to use it? I read from the forum post that Troy is the guy to buy it from.
My friends are all telling me to make sure that Troy's warrantly is directly from Toyota.
Have you purchased it from him and is the warranty valid at any Toyota dealership in U.S.??
