Anyone know what this hose is, just above of the EGR pipe? Can I fix the tear, or should I go ahead and replace? This is a 2010 Prius. Suggestions welcome on how to fix, if that is an appropriate strategy. Current options are duct tape, electrical tape, Shoe Goo, silicone caulk, and neoprene wetsuit glue.
Dealership parts department person would be able to find a replacement hose for you, probably just need to show him a pic, preferably one from further back, for better orientation. IIRC, and because nothings seeping out, I’m guessing it’s vapours from gas tank?
It's the No. 1 fuel vapor feed hose: 2382637090 - Hose, fuel vapor feed, no. 1. Engine - Genuine Toyota Part It does transport fuel vapor, so is not merely protective.
Does the tear go all the way through the hose so if I'm to believe that rubber is supposed to have a little squeeze clamp and just slid on to the metal if you slide it off the metal and look down in the hose with a flashlight take a blunt instrument if you have to and stick it in the tear do you see your blunt instrument coming through the inside of the hose I was just curious if it's actually broken all the way through or if something just cut it inadvertently while somebody was doing something under the hood It looks like just rubber emissions hose they'll have that at advance Auto Menards O'Reilly's etc. If you can pull the hose off squeeze with your fingers past the little slice and blow on the hose while your fingers are still closing the hose down past the tear is air blowing out of the tear doesn't look like it so essentially the hose is doing its job not sucking any air when the valve is on moving the vapor through it whatever has to happen.
