Subaru oil filter shortage Link above will take you to Arts Garage in Berkeley. Very interesting take that actually applies to all cars. Those of you who have been around here a bit know that Arts in California is a respected Prius repair spot. Those of you have been around a bit may know I have trouble sleeping and find strange things on the WWW at 4 a.m. Anyway, I thought the post linked to above was interesting in the extreme. I always figured repair places took the cheapest filter NAPA could provide -- and maybe some of them do -- but not Arts. What I found most interesting is Arts seems to say that price was the major issue. Not "pandemic," which seems to be the excuse for many things nowadays. BTW -- found the "double gasket" discussion interesting. And as long as you are there might check their "Arti-cles" section -- some interesting stuff.
I've never owned a Subie, but my finely honed Spidey senses are tingling... I'm guessing that Subaru makes CARS...not car filters.... https://www.autocarneed.com/who-makes-subaru-oil-filters/
Hmmm. I remember ColoradoBoo writing about Toyota filters in Wal mart. I do remember seeing them there might need to grab a few....... its always good to have more ammo.
Hmm, I've had my oil filter for my V6 Camry back ordered on Amazon for weeks now. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Had a chance to do some deep diving into Art's articles and there is a ton of good information. Almost enough to make me wish I lived close.
