I saw an interview with Jim Farley on Fully Charged. I wasn’t aware how much time Farley spent at Toyota. Some history, lots of big picture discussion. The importance of “exportable energy” in buyer’s minds was unexpected (by Ford). They knew it would be a nice option, but were surprised by how much that drove sales. Anyways, I thought some other people might find it interesting.
Last time we owned a Ford it was a later 1970's era Ford Courier. Pew! ..... what a rust/prone gutless stinker. Bah - it was still a step up from the Chevy Vega - lol Maybe not so much to blame ford, as they were purchasing mini pickups from Mazda back then. Hey - we hopefully learn from our failures. Those who were simpler manufacturing times. Like the ford CEO says, lots more goes into making Automotive manufacturing decisions w/ EV's. .
