Son just sold his v after 230k miles rather than spend $6k on an ICE repair for the well known head gasket maybe diagnosis. Ah for the days when I replaced an engine for $1,100 installed in a MiniVan. And then replaced that 1k miles later when it proved to be a lemon. Fortunately free the second time.

Consider diesel Machinery tearing old wind turbine blades down, diesel machinery chopping them into ⅓'s, diesel machinery hauling them to giant landfills like this one in Casper Wyoming - among other places. So much for 'green' well to wheels. Yes they COULD be recycled - but .... when costs exceed benefit - it's hard to get peeps to pencil it out. Propose they be made from aluminum: We've got thousands of tons of aluminum wings in the deserts that could be fabricated into wind turbine blades. Bob I apologize if my reference to recycle glass or plastic vs wind turbine blades was a disconnect. It was in response to the prior automotive well-to-wheels post - which, unfortunately leaves one thinking there are no such downside issues with green Tech - whether it be EV''s - solar, or recycling glass & plastic. So the referenced recycling links were merely to point out that not all of our green waste bins' contents get recycled - but instead end up in a landfill. Ie - there's a type of well-to-wheels principal on many different products we manufacture. Our last 5 vehicles have been plugins - & their primary purchase reason has been efficiency /cost savings like you. Again apologies for vague references that seem too disconnected.. .
