new to the forum. Recently i started to notice a loud rattle/vibration coming from the engine. I can feel it on the driver side even near the gas pedal... once i get to a certain MPH it gradually goes away... it only happens a low speed... when on EV its fine. I did replace the water pump and even the motor mounts which were done so that was needed, but the problem still persists.
337000 and about 4 months My mechanic said it sounds like the transmission... because the clunking sounds right underneath the driver foot well I did clean the manifold and egr pipe today not the egr itself ... should i get that done? It only shudderes when driving after maybe 30 mph it goes away...
337k in a 3rd gen means almost a certainty something catastrophic has occurred, typically head gasket failure. That may have been “remedied”, but the damper between engine and transaxle suffered damage, plus head gasket failure maybe happening again. if this is the case, EGR cleaning, while good, should be shelved till head gasket is assessed. My 2 cents, maybe time to let go.
