5 years ago mice used wiring insulation and panel insulation to build nests in AC vents and hybrid battery fan. $300 for dealer to clean out. Now: Car sat undriven for the last 2 months. Went to drive it last week and it had the mouse smell and thought we heard mice moving about. Found a nest of panel insulation in the trunk tub. I put 4 traps in car but haven't caught any. I went for a 10 mile round trip and later a 6 mile round trip today, both with BAFX ibd2 reader running thru Dr Prius app. HB temps all stayed closed too outside temps. Pack volt got to 230 and state of charge reached 60%. Starting battery is 14.1 because I just replace the original. Should I take the fan out to check? How close to 100% can I get this 13 yr old HB? Only 119,000 miles, how long should this HB last?

Put rodent mesh* over the cabin air intake. You'll need to remove wipers and cowl to get at it.

1/4" mesh galvanized steel is good, secured with sheet metal screws.
