Transmission oil change

    Prius v 2012 in Australia. First change of transmission oil at 170k now second change at 210k. Just surprised as hell the first time oil was dirty. But this time oil was more than dirty. If was super dirty felt like mud was mixed in oil.. surprised because I changed after 40k only.? Any reason Y?

    Where these miles or kms? FWIW, I changed ours first time around 16K kms, and it was already markedly darker.

    What fluid did you use? Did you use Toyota's fluid or another brand?

    I changed mine at 60k miles. It was a bit darker but I wouldn't call it "dirty" Maybe the color changes due to the operating temps? I have seen motor oils that turn very dark within days after the oil change.
