Does anyone know what part this is? It dropped on the floor after i tilted the head to do a leak test. Im stumped ...its not the alignment pins for the head or valve..its slightly larger.
I don't know personally but it looks like a bolt sleeve but either a bolt is going to go through the middle of or it sits down on a stud and a piece of plastic or rubber pushes over it something like that Don't know I have a whole generation 3 engine here apart and all the bolts and fittings are in order and a special container if you will I will go look in that stuff and see if I see this or if this is actually supposed to be on the valve cover or something The air box uses some tubes like this I do believe around the bolts where they penetrate the box with some rubber grommets I believe again I have to go look the Gen 3 is not something that I do lots of work on we're more or less phasing them out here.
Thanks for the reply. Went and looked at the air box and its all there and they are different. I know it looks like the guide pins for the valve cover and the head but they are there and a little smaller than this.

Definately NOT a guide pin for the valve cover or head. It's more of a shim that goes into a plastic part so the bolt that goes through it can be tightened down, and stop, without crushing the plastic part. You chould check the air filter housing and related parts for all the places the bolts go.
