My Toyota 2010 12 v Battery charge is draining

    hi all experts,

    I have prius 2010 but my car sitting idle. So i bought trickle down charger and charged it full. So i removed it last night after it showed full

    Then today i connected trickle charger again and its charging for more 45min now and still not full.

    Not used it after last night charging.

    Why it lose battery charge on its own. Can someone tell me how to maintain battery? Is there battery liquid?
    How do i check its low?

    Let me know.

    Battery is too old, low capacity. Trickle charger are not used to charge, but to maintain

    is it a Gen 4 or Gen 3? Gen 4 have lead acid batteries that you can add water to, while Gen 3 have AGM which you can’t add water to. Additionally, if you’re trying to charge an AGM with the charger set for lead acid (or vice versa) you will have problems. Plus a trickle charger will EVENTUALLY bring the battery to a full charge IF it is charging at a rate higher than the parasitic draw (which most are capable of).
