What is it that starts running when I shut off and get our of my car? It sounds like a pump starts running.
It's a pump running. It moves the hot engine coolant into a thermos so it can be used when you start the car to shorten warmup.
That is incredible. I just read that the thermos bottle stores 3 liters of coolant at boiling temps for up to 3 days. Wow!
