Hello everyone, new user. I was driving my 2005 prius the other day when it died right in the middle of the street. The red triangle came up for a split second, the Odometer started blinking then the engine shut off. The car still gets power (the headlights, hatch, and auto locks work, but the engine wont turn on). I open the hatch and see a little water where the the12v battery is and one of the wires on the positive terminal has snapped at the base.

Had the car towed and inspecting it now and here are some things to consider:
the battery holds a charge when i test with multimeter, only a few months old
AM2 IGN fuse was blown (replaced)

need some help on this one

Well if your AM2 fuse was blown, did you fix the problem that blew the fuse? It usually blows from a shorted inverter pump. That will cause the car not to start, I would check that fuse again

There's leaks from cracks in your roof seams that you can find and then epoxy patch by cleaning hatch area and under black trim strips to find 'em. Just charge up your 12v battery with a strong charger and pull the rubber drain plug from underneath the car with a pair of needle nose pliers.

Did replacing the fuse fix the problem? Have you checked the error codes?

Also if you want to avoid getting towed in the future, buy yourself one of these to keep in the glove box so you can use your phone and phone apps to read and clear error, monitor RPMs, etc: Panlong OBD2 Scanner Bluetooth OBDII Diagnostic Tool Car Code Reader Turn Off... | eBay

As mentioned, the most common cause for blown AM2 fuse is a shorted inverter coolant pump.

Most here on the forums recommend using a genuine (bought from a dealer) Toyota part. Aftermarket or counterfeit Toyota pumps can be unreliable.

Some of these have been reported as randomly just "not pumping" and causing inverter to shutdown from overheat just a few months after installation. The OE pump from Toyota typically lasts around 100k miles.

Checked and the fuse was blown again. Unhooked the ICP and the fuse held up. Gotta replace the pump. Thanks!
