That's their new "on the ground" update system for the new accelerator pedal of doom recall.

Just read up on it. Seems the assembly line doofus' were installing the pedal w/ soap rather than using lubricating 'A-arm' type rubber bushing glue. Rubber accelerator pad falls upward & hooks on something & stops the pedal from releasing. Good thing those suckers have eeeeuge disc rotors.

Saw a Lucid with temporary Cali plates. Must’ve been quite excited to take the car before the actual plates arrive.

And an original HiHy in pretty darn good condition.

Edit: Saw a 2nd OG HiHy later that night in Bluestone Metallic (first one was in Sonora Gold)

Nice weather on a spring weekend here. Lots of neat rides out in my neighborhood!

Yesterday I saw an early 1980s Accord in show condition, down at the car wash.

Today I saw a 1956 Chevrolet pickup, lowered, rat-rod, heavy on the patina.

I needed to go buy a tool earlier, and in the parking lot of the store I parked my Mazda up against a true classic Mazda. A 1974 REPU! Showed evidence of a racing career. Hats off!

I saw two Lexus RX250 cars in the past 24 hours. I find that car polarizing in the sense that it's a decent looking crossover in a bright color like Ultra White, but it's just a drab heap when finished in Pavement Smudge Shimmer.

Yesterday I only ran one errand, but during that 5 mile round trip I spotted
1 other Gen 5 Prius Prime.
half a dozen Gen 4 Prius Prime and about the same number of regular Gen4 HEV,
A couple of Rivan Pick ups,
    A Lucid sedan
    A polestar sedan
A lot full of Mustang Mach-e GT (An Avis rental lot)
A whole bunch of Teslas, (everything except a roadster).
a Cybertruck. (They look uglier each time I see one)
    A THINK 2 seater EV.

There are lots of them out there.

Oh! You reminded me that I also saw a Smart EV. That was pretty surprising. There are 3 or 4 fossil Smarts in town, but I've only ever seen one electric.

One of these days I'll take my camera to the freeway off-ramp and see just what the percentage of the cars are electrified in one way or the other.

I also saw an Amazon delivery van that appeared to be electric. :)

Ford F150 Lightning in a Lowe’s parking lot this past Saturday. Odd I’ve seen more Rivians than the Lightning.

In the Boston area for a reunion this weekend. I spotted a Lucid Air on the 'pike, I think it's the first time I've seen one of those in the wild.

At the reunion, I saw that a classmate had recently purchased a Dodge Hornet, and I had no idea Dodge had brought that name back. Decent look but I didn't get that close.

I also a 1973 VW Squareback out in the wilds past 495, and something truly old that I could not identify- 1920s open-top coupe parked at a curb just outside of Logan airport.

There is a PHEV version that is a through the road hybrid; engine drives one axle and the motor the other. It is the twin to an Alfa romeo that lacks an overboost ability for performance.

Reminded me that I spotted a VW Thing in town. Wanted one in highschool to cover in bike reflectors.

Also and early '80s Camero/Trans Am someone takes care of.

Very very very young Dustin Hoffman getting some of his first air time - was for Volkswagen. Quite funny listening to the vehicle's features. Even has an electric clock & carpet!

Oh Jazz fest for the young!! 2024. I checked my dashcam but you cant see anything due to the glare on the camera lense.

Driving home from the airport just now, a gorgeous Nissan GT-R in Bentley green. (wouldn't mention one in any other color)

Like in the early 90s, every other car seemed to be that color, or a variant thereof.

I think that's the version he bought. Nice periwinkle color on it too.

That would have been hilarious. Now I want a mylar-wrapped one to park next to it.
