So I was working on an '06 today that is showing engine no start hybrid battery attempts to start the car It's turning over chugging along and then slam it just shuts off like it's run out of gas but it's actually never started in the first place I realized this. And I have the 3193 code which is a low or no fuel condition and I've got a flashing CM monitor gas gauge so I naturally assume that the car is somewhat out of fuel I have tech plugged up to the car and I can command the fuel pump on and I hear it running It doesn't sound like it's running dry. So even after adding about 4.1 gallon of gas it's literally backing up out of the filler neck which was a surprise I still have the no start and the 3193 codes for no fuel so needless to say I just cleared the codes left the cap off the gas tank for a few minutes clean the MAF which was a little dirty by the time I did all that 15 minutes had gone by I capped the cars tank jumped in the car tech is still plugged up and I just went to the start sequence in the car ran like it was trying to start the engine and then it kept running way longer than it has matter of fact it would still be running if I left it that way but yet the gas gauge is still showing flashing empty the tank is backed up out of the filler neck and of course now I don't have the POAOF or whatever code it is for no engine starting as being displayed by the Toyota software. But yet I still have no gas gauge no codes for any kind of gas gauge or the CM monitor everything else works on the car spot on I didn't try the air conditioning so they're on driving 399 miles and then getting gas fill it up to full reset the trip meter some people don't appreciate that. I explained to them the tank issue and I could get costly.
