Why am I unable to register the same key via Techstream?

    Both keys are identical. I did notice some numbers on the motherboard itself but not sure if that is the factor. One shows 8/12 one shows 3/12. Other than that, it looks identical.

    When placing the key on the passenger seat post registration, the registration process fails.

    What am I doing wrong?

    This is something you bought online I guess or just an extra remote does it have the gray sticker in it that goes on the side when you slide the cover up?

    My brother in law gave me this key since he sold his prius. Neither of the keys in the video have any gray stickers.

    A used Gen 3 key must first be unlocked before it can be programmed on another prius.

    Looks like the physical hardware is still required?
