Yeah I think it'd be pretty hard to hack that display. The calculated reality would very likely be about 7% less, but that's still crazy high.
If it's a 2-lane road and a car is behind me, I will drive at the speed limit, lightly pulse to 1 mph over limit, then lighten up on the throttle a little bit until 1 mph under limit. Then repeat.

Yes, my average speed was about 41 mph, but I drive as high as 55 mph on freeways (using cruise control), to as low as 17 mph (using P & G) in gated communities.
