I've been recently been updating parts on my 2013 Prius C, about 2 weeks ago I got a new head unit, speakers, rear back up camera and dynaplating installed in all four doors. I just had a passenger in my car today and the passenger side door won't unlock from inside the vehicle. When trying to use the manual lock to unlock it, it just spins back and forth (like it is loose) and it still won't unlock. Using the key fob still won't open the door from the inside. However, the door locks/unlocks with the key fob when opening the door from the outside. I've been reading around and apparently it can be common for the door actuators to go bad on these vehicles. So my question is, does this seem like it could be the door actuator or maybe they forgot to plug something back in when they installed the dynaplating? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
If the actuator failed it would be the opposite- no remote lock/unlock, but the manual usually still works. Sounds like they goofed putting the door back together.
